Effective 2026-10-23 · Plain-English summary of how TickGrid handles your data.
Overview
TickGrid: Daily Logic Puzzles (“TickGrid”) is an Android game developed by KYIRON Technologies (“KYIRON”, “we”, “us”).
TickGrid itself collects nothing personal. There is no account and no sign-up. Your puzzles, times and streak stay on your phone. The app shows ads through Google, and, outside the EEA, UK and Switzerland, it can send anonymous usage statistics and crash reports that you can turn off. Both are described below.
Data stored on your phone
TickGrid keeps a small amount of data in its private app storage:
- Progress: which daily, archive and practice puzzles you solved, the level you reached in each puzzle type, your times and hint counts, and any puzzle you left half-finished.
- Settings: theme, assists, reminder time and your choices in Settings.
- Device counters: when the app was first opened, how many times it was opened, and when ads and the review request were last shown, used to pace them.
Progress and settings are included in Android’s own backup, which stores them in your Google account so a new phone can restore your streak. That backup is between you and Google; KYIRON never sees it. The device counters are not backed up. Uninstalling TickGrid removes all of this data from the phone.
Advertising
TickGrid is free and shows ads using the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob): a video you can choose to watch for an extra hint, and an occasional full-screen break when you leave a result screen. Ads never appear during a puzzle.
According to Google’s data safety disclosures, Google Mobile Ads may collect and process the following for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention:
- IP address (which may be used to estimate approximate general location).
- Product interactions (such as app launches, taps and ad views).
- Diagnostic and performance information.
- Device identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID).
This data is encrypted in transit. For how Google processes it, see Google’s Partner Sites Policy.
Consent and your choices (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
- Before ads are requested, you are asked for consent through Google’s User Messaging Platform: the first time you choose to watch an ad for a hint, or when you next open the app.
- You can review or change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options.
Usage statistics and crash reports
To find bugs and improve the game, TickGrid uses Google’s Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics.
- What is sent: anonymous events such as “a puzzle was started” or “a puzzle was solved”, with the puzzle type and difficulty and times only as broad ranges; crash reports and diagnostics; your device model and Android version; and app instance and installation identifiers created by Firebase.
- What is never sent: your boards or moves, exact times, dates, your streak’s exact length, or your reminder time beyond the hour. Firebase Analytics does not collect your advertising ID in TickGrid.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: usage statistics and crash reports are turned off.
- Everywhere else: they are on by default, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings → Share usage stats.
This data is encrypted in transit and processed by Google. Learn more in the Firebase privacy information.
Reminders
If you turn on the daily reminder, Android asks for permission to show notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your phone; no server is involved, and nothing about them is sent anywhere.
In-app purchases
TickGrid does not sell anything in the app. If a purchase is offered in a future version, it will be processed only through Google Play, and KYIRON will never see your payment details.
No accounts and no data sales
- No user accounts: you never register, log in or give us any contact details to play.
- No sale of personal data: we do not sell or rent personal data.
- Deletion: because TickGrid has no account, there is nothing for us to delete on request; uninstalling removes the app’s data from your phone.
Children’s privacy
TickGrid is not directed to anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we update this Privacy Policy, the revised policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
